2013
Diatomaceous earth, gesso, Flashe paint, acrylic, ink on wood panel
72" x 48"

The Palette of Boucher
2013
Diatomaceous earth, gesso, Flashe paint, acrylic, ink on wood panel
72" x 48"
The surface is made to resemble a weave without the canvas, the diatomaceous earth absorbs the pigment making the color amplified. Some of the surface is smooth while other areas are rough, attributable to my interest in textural dichotomies.

This landscape acts as the group's indexical pragmatist. The wood panel is carved out establishing a very physical, textual surface. The diatomaceous earth painted ground is very smooth in contrast to the cut out wood.
